“My boots are made for walkin, and that’s just what they’ll do. One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.” Famous song, famous quote sung by Nancy Sinatra and Jessica Simpson and possibly countless more celebs and quoted often as well by us. But it’s the truth we use those boots anytime as a matter of fact if we could have it any other way the world should just only be filled with boots and hot boys! But with reality we know that finding a good pair of boots and the right pair of accessories to go along with it. We look all throughout the mall just to see the same boot a few times at a range of prices. Sometimes we luck out and find the perfect boots or booties. But since the winter is here we can’t just get any pair of boots we have to think of what kind we want.

With the winter here we look to stay warm as well as stay cute and stylish. So what to look for in boots first is the material. First thing first there is a love hate relationship between boots and the material suede. We love the suede because it’s so functional and easy to slip on and slip off. And if it’s a snug fit then it’s the best. But with suede there are some setbacks, such as you can not wear them in the rain. No matter where you live, wearing suede boots is not good for the rain, or any type of water. This material will allow water to sink right through to your sock, toes, and yes your day will feel practically ruined. But suede is a great for dry days of course and colors such as black, camel and grey go great with accessories like silk scarves at womenclothingtoday.com, and even knee high skirts. Suede also goes great with any type of jeans and the best look to get this is the scrunched look. The scrunch look is where the material is ruffled around the shin area giving it a soft and appealing look. Although suede is fashionable and comfortable you can never go wrong with leather boots.

With leather boots we find ourselves in the realm of wanting to get the all leather boot which can be expensive sometimes. But in most cases we can find great imitations and at best better versions at stores like Journey’s or Express or whichever stores that qualify as your “it” store in town. Both leather and non leather boots are sought out after as well as suede boots. Height is also considered. For the up and coming you don’t want to think too always tall of a boot,  think more of comfort and warmth as well. Having a nice tall boot like those present at JC Penny’s or Macy’s at great prices. We want the boots to made for walking and made for us to stay warm and dry. Fashionable boots with side buckles like the Madden Girl boots are exotic, nice and trendy can also be found at Payless with similar look boots. Enjoy your boots and makes sure they’re made for walking and stay warm during all your cold season.

It is strange how short our memories can be when it comes to the weather. As we enjoy the blistering heat of summer, those bleak, wintry days and evenings become nothing more than a distant recollection, but when they do come around we have forgotten just how cold they really feel. As the stores fill with the latest autumn and winter fashions at the end of the summer season, often a part of us is still hanging on to the memory of those hot days and balmy evenings when we select our coats and jackets, and when winter really does arrive we find that we are less than well-prepared.

Rather than investing in yet another coat or jacket, and particularly for those really cold days which take you by surprise with their bitter chill, one great way to achieve added warmth is by wearing a stunning silk scarf or shawl over the top of your existing outer wear. If silk does not at first strike you as a particularly practical fabric for cold, wintry days, then just bear in mind that it has been used for many years for its wonderful insulating properties. Even the aviators of yesteryear who had to face the extreme cold up in the air in their cockpits were protected by aviator jackets lined with this very material. Today you will find many items of clothing and accessories, such as jackets and gloves, which also use it for lining.

A women’s silk scarf or shawl worn over a coat or jacket does not just provide added warmth, however. It adds a look of sheer elegance and glamour and gives the item of clothing a complete facelift. Hand painted scarves and handmade shawls in particular make a stunning statement and the eye-catching designs are certain to turn heads.

Hand painted scarves and shawls really do stand out from the printed alternatives in all kinds of ways. The silk used in their production is 100% pure and so the fabric moves and drapes in a way which poorer quality silk or manmade fabrics simply cannot emulate. Every design is totally unique too, which means that your look is as individual as you are and you never have to face the embarrassment of bumping into someone who is wearing the exact same thing as you.

The colors on hand painted silk scarves and shawls though, are probably one of the most noticeable things about them, as they have their own special vibrancy which is not apparent in the printed items. Because the dyes are absorbed into the material during the hand painting process, they do not affect the feel of the silk either, so it remains beautifully soft. Whether you choose bright, bold colors to chase away the winter blues or soft pastels to flatter your coloring and your outfit, you don’t have to worry that a few drops of rain will cause the dyes to run. The hand-making process ensures that the colors are fixed so that they will not leach if you happen to get caught in a shower or when you hand wash your fabulous accessory.

We’ve all done it; it’s too warm for a sweater, cardigan or jacket, so we go off out in a sleeveless top or a strappy dress, completely forgetting that by the time we have stopped chasing around to get ready, and as soon as the temperature has started to drop as day turns to evening, we are going to be shivering with cold. Grabbing a silk scarf or shawl on the way out of the door, however, can ensure that instead of worrying about having goose flesh all night, we can just get on and enjoy ourselves in perfect comfort.

Especially on those warm days in spring, summer and autumn, it can be very easy to get caught out by the weather, but the last thing that we style-conscious ladies want is to spoil our look by lugging around thick jackets and coats which we might not even need to use. While a warm sweater can, of course, be worn knotted around the shoulders until such time as it might be needed, this look will only work with certain outfits and certainly would not be an option with an elegant evening gown.

Silk scarves and shawls, on the other hand, provide the perfect solution for those occasions when it is impossible to tell what the weather might do. The fine, lightweight fabric folds up neatly, making it easy to pop your fabulous accessory into your purse. Better still, however, why not just wear it as part of your outfit to enhance your look?

The great thing about silk scarves and shawls is that they can be worn on so many different parts of the body and so, when it is still warm outside, you can wear it as pure decoration, but when it cools down you can move it to wrap around your shoulders and keep out the chill. You might, for example, wear it in your hair or to adorn a hat, or tie it around your waist or hips over the top of a skirt or pants. As the temperature drops, simply untie it and place it around your arms, neck or shoulders to keep you snugly warm.

Even if you just choose to carry your women’s scarf or shawl with you though, or drape it casually across your arms or shoulders, it will still provide that added bit of glamour and eye-catching appeal to your overall look. Unlike a bulky jacket thrown across your arm, a fabulous hand-painted silk scarf or handmade shawl will look like the stunning accessory that it is, instead of just an afterthought.

Of course, if you are going to go for maximum appeal, then the vivid colors, the sumptuous fabric and the gorgeous, unique designs on the hand-painted examples of women’s scarves and shawls make them the only ones to choose. After all, why just be warm and cozy when you can look stunning too?

Ok let’s all just admit it. Even though fall and winter are nearing or are practically here we can’t give up our summer fashion styles so easily. We want to be cute no matter what we wear and we truly believe that a big oversized coat will make that hot guy turn away from us today. Maybe it does make people look away but the most important thing to know about this time of the year is that we can look fabulous and still stay in style. Believe it or not being cute in the pouring rain in shorts and a cute shirt doesn’t matter, the rain matters. We’ve all had our moments we want to look fashionable although it’s a windy day we insist on wearing that dress and have a Marilyn Monroe moment, when oops there goes the dress and we weren’t even standing over a vent to make flirtatious gestures. It’s embarrassing to be caught in the cold without a sweater or a jacket or with something on that is clearly for the summer. So just be sure there are tons of ways to stay sheik and glamorous without so much trouble as you would think and will leave you puffy free from all the fur and big oversized jackets.

Ok so maybe some of us don’t have a problem dressing warm but that’s ok these tips are very useful and can be done by anyone not just teens. When looking for garments of any sort we look for color and patterns and most importantly we think about what’s good and what’s not to today’s society. For example, blouses that Prince used to wear in the 80’s may be great for a Halloween costume but not for a daily basis.  But long sleeve shirts and sweaters have a lot of great appeal these days as well as scarves, coats and even rain boots, yes rain boots.

1.     Wear the turtle neck and long sleeves. Remember how you use to hate when mom tried to make you wear them and you would swear that tore at your skin and made you itch, well now turtle necks and long sleeves shirts have a greater appeal to both men and women. Old Navy is one company that caters to a lot of different genres and styles. With patterns on the shirts as well as the cuts around the collar bone, which can allow you to wear different shirts underneath to create a different look. Also this shove up you sleeves, this gesture is generally use to make way for air because it’s too hot but sometimes the scrunched look can really make an impression on your outfit.

2.     Sweater dresses. These are great for the fall season. It’s not too just yet and we’re transitioning from the summer with the luke warm days. Sweater dresses that come to the top of you knee are great and can be found at places like forever 21, Gap, express and Jc Penny’s and many other department stores around this time. And when it does become cold you can throw on a pair of tights to keep you legs warm.

3.     Sweaters are the “it” factor. Don’t limit your sweater selection to the big hobo one’s you use for gym or the ones that your grandparents give you. Make that an item on you wish list. Like shirts sweaters can have different collar cuts and you can use this advantage to wear different t-shirts/spaghetti straps underneath to make a different outfit each time. These can be found all around you especially with the temperatures dropping. Your best bet is to dive into a local fashion shop or if not oldnavy.com or overstock.com

4.     Go for colorful scarves. There are the ones that say that each season has a color, but it truly depends on how you wear it and where. Brightening up your look with colorful silk scarves as well as woven cotton ones too leave an everlasting impression you don’t want to have the same look over and over again but with scarves the look different every time. You can find gorgeous scarves and me many other items at womenclothingtoday.com

5.     Trench coats are great coats to have. Depending on the fabric and where you live you can find a coat that matches you need. Most woven coats are the best choice because of their warmth and the lasting material. The best part about these coats is that they come in a variety of different styles as well as they are a lot thinner than those oversized coats that we dread putting on. These coats compliment our outfits as well as add a different look. You can find a lot of great prices and coats at Target.com or the department store.

In the depths of winter when the trees are bare, the cars have turned the snow into horrible, gray slush and the chances of seeing the sun feel like they are a million to one, injecting a bit of color into your life can become a top priority if your spirits are not going to be allowed to sink. Typically though, when the winter months arrive, people tend to opt for colors which are as dark and bleak as the weather, so that the streets are filled with glum-looking individuals wearing dreary grays and browns and somber black. Even the thick woolen fabrics from which their clothes are made seem to weigh them down physically, mentally and spiritually.

Winter is one of the best times of the year to invest in a fabulous hand painted silk scarf or hand-dyed silk shawl. The glorious colors cannot fail to lift dampened spirits and the exquisite beauty of these wonderful accessories will make you feel pampered and special at a time of year when everything seems to have fallen into decay.

Women’s silk scarves and shawls which use flowers in their design work particularly well in terms of lifting the clouds, as these provide a timely reminder that spring is just around the corner. With so many to choose from, go for something with vibrant colors to make your heart soar and wear it indoors and out to keep you feeling invigorated.

Of course, as well as being intensely beautiful, silk scarves and shawls are incredibly practical during the winter months too. Despite its soft, floaty appearance, silk is one of the warmest fabrics there is, so whether you choose to wear a scarf around your neck, or a scarf or shawl across your shoulders for added warmth, you will always feel cozy however cold it gets outside.

The weight of silk is another important factor in winter too. When we are bundled up in layers and layers of clothing, our figures simply disappear, making us feel fat and unattractive, which of course only adds to our sense of misery. Wearing something as fine, light and yet warm as silk does away with the need for thick, heavy articles of clothing and lets you recapture the lightness of spring and summer.

The dark cold winter months are usually the time when we women like to console ourselves with chocolate and treats to make us feel better about the cold and the rain outside. In doing so, however, all we do is pile on the pounds and end up feeling worse. Treating yourself to a luxury handmade silk scarf or shawl, on the other hand, can have the effect of making you feel truly pampered without the calories and, of course, you will have a very beautiful and highly versatile accessory to show for your money.

Don’t let winter get you down, but instead treat yourself to a bit of luxury and wear your brightly-colored silk scarf or shawl everywhere!
